Merino Wool, Mohair

The handwoven scarves in this mini-series are made from soft, breathable mélange merino wool with the addition of mohair — a natural fibre obtained from Angora goats. The weave structure and original design come together in an unusual combination, giving the pieces in this series their distinctive and unique character. The scarves in this series have two completely different sides. One layer is dominated by a palette ranging from green to yellow-green tones, while the other is built around deep blues and turquoise. Both the main colours and the accents — lime green and vivid violet — move through the textile in varied ways, appearing in different combinations and visual contexts. The colour palette and design bring to mind a sense of freshness and refreshment — like a cool cocktail made with cactus and lemon juice, curaçao, fresh mint and ice cubes. Each of these handwoven merino wool scarves belongs to the same mini-series, while the arrangement of colours and the character of the design give each piece its own individual expression.
