Quiet lake: Bindweed

Merino Wool

This handwoven scarf is my own design, made from Irish Donegal merino wool. The natural yarn is soft and pleasant to the touch, giving the finished fabric a warm, breathable feel and a substantial texture. A timeless accessory for the cooler days of autumn, winter and early spring, it combines everyday practicality with the character of handwoven craftsmanship and the slow fashion ethos. The scarf has two distinct sides, each defined by a different dominant colour palette. While creating the "Quiet Lake" series, I wanted to capture the atmosphere and colour palette of the edge of a small pond. The muted tones suggest the presence of water, mist and waterside vegetation, while the colour accents reflect the flowers of plants that grow in this kind of setting. "Hedge bindweed", a member of the morning glory family, blooms with distinctive white, trumpet-shaped flowers.
